Xabi Alonso makes his biggest Real Madrid decision yet and it will have huge impact on Trent Alexander-Arnold

Xabi Alonso has allegedly reached a significant decision at Real Madrid, which may affect Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Last month, following several weeks of speculation, it was announced that the former Liverpool and Madrid player Alonso will take on the role of head coach for Los Blancos.

In a statement to the club’s official website, Alonso expressed: “Madridistas, I am thrilled to reunite with you and to return to the club.”

The bond has always been there, but now from the inside I’m very excited and energised so that we can all be proud of the team, enjoy ourselves, and celebrate great things. Hala Madrid!”

Alonso already has two new additions in his squad, in the shape of Dean Huijsen and Alexander-Arnold.

Now, it has been claimed that Alonso has made a big decision ahead of his first season in charge of Madrid

.As reported by Spanish news outlet MARCA, Alonso is leaning towards playing a 4-3-3 formation, which will be a big switch from his usual 3-4-2-1 that he used at Bayer Leverkusen.

The report stated: “The former Liverpool and Bayern Munich midfielder, among other teams, has the idea of shifting toward a 4-3-3 formation.

“It won’t be his team’s only way of playing, but it will be the starting point.

“This will for sure have an impact on Alexander-Arnold, as he will be used to playing in a 4-3-3 due to the likes of Jurgen Klopp and Arne Slot using the same formation at Liverpool.
