Liverpool defender Kostas Tsimikas asserts that he and his teammates have never engaged in discussions regarding the Premier League allegations against their rivals, Manchester City.
City is currently awaiting the outcome of a hearing that examined the 115 charges against them, with potential penalties being theoretically limitless if they are found guilty of any misconduct.
These allegations pertain to the timeframe from 2009, the year following the Abu Dhabi acquisition, to 2018, the year Pep Guardiola secured his inaugural Premier League title as manager.
Since 2018, City has maintained its dominance in English football, clinching five of the last seven titles—Liverpool finished as runners-up to the Sky Blues in both the 2018–19 and 2021–22 seasons.
In principle, the charges have not directly deprived Liverpool of either of those titles, although they also finished second to City in the 2013–14 season.
Despite being a topic of conversation among fans since the initial reports of the charges, Tsimikas has indicated that it is not a significant concern for him or the other Liverpool players.
“The players have never talked about City and the allegations; I am not even aware of what they have done or what they are accused of, and frankly, I do not care,” Tsimikas stated to Sport24 in his home country of Greece.”
