Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho has allegedly selected Liverpool as one of the teams he would consider joining after Ruben Amorim advised the Argentine to seek a new club.
Garnacho was enraged after being excluded from Amorim’s starting lineup for the Europa League final loss to Tottenham Hotspur.
He criticized his manager after “playing every round and assisting the team” only to receive “20 minutes” in the final.
The 20-year-old’s discontent is expected to result in his exit this summer.
Amorim communicated his decision regarding the club’s academy graduate to him and the rest of the squad during a meeting on Saturday, according to The Athletic.
Spanish outlet DefensaCentral reports that Garnacho wants to join Real Madrid and has “instructed his agent to first explore” the La Liga giants.
But it’s unlikely a move to the Santiago Bernabeu will take place given the Spanish side’s attacking talent including Vinicius Junior, Kylian Mbappe, and Arda Guler.
Garnacho’s representatives would have to turn elsewhere and have a list of other destinations that includes Liverpool, Bayern Munich and a return to Atletico Madrid.
Chelsea and Napoli were keen on signing him in January but the Argentina international remained at Old Trafford with no club willing to meet his £70m price-tag.
