Real Madrid make fresh Jurgen Klopp contact after Carlo Ancelotti sack decision

Real Madrid has once again reached out to former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp as they prepare to part ways with Carlo Ancelotti, according to reports.

Klopp was mentioned as a potential candidate for the Madrid position earlier this month when it became evident that Ancelotti would likely be dismissed, probably at the conclusion of the La Liga season.

It was suggested that Klopp was interested in returning to management with Madrid, but the agent of the Liverpool favorite publicly reaffirmed his commitment to his current role as head of global soccer at Red Bull.

As reported by MARCA, Klopp has received two calls from Madrid, who are eager to understand his plans regarding a return to management.

Madrid anticipates needing a new manager for the Club World Cup, and given that their ideal candidate, Xabi Alonso, may require complicated negotiations to exit his contract with Bayer Leverkusen, the prospect of hiring a free agent like Klopp is appealing.

However, the response from Klopp’s camp remains uncertain, and it is believed that he does not plan to return to management until at least the summer of 2026.

Madrid will continue discussions with Alonso but are also ready to consider former manager Santiago Solari, who is currently a director at the Santiago Bernabeu, to lead the team during the Club World Cup until a permanent replacement for Ancelotti is appointed.

Ancelotti is on the verge of signing a contract with the Brazilian national team, which was also considered a potential opportunity for Klopp before his agent dampened the rumors.
