Liverpool is expected to profit from the sale of Luis Diaz this summer, even though he played a vital role in last season’s Premier League championship.

Barcelona has been significantly associated with a potential acquisition of Diaz and may pursue the Colombian international again after missing out on Nico Williams, although Marcus Rashford is also on their radar. Meanwhile, Bayern is in need of attacking reinforcements following Leroy Sane’s departure and Jamal Musiala’s serious injury sustained at the Club World Cup.
The German publication BILD has reported that Bayern Munich has submitted a bid of £44.8 million for Diaz; however, this amount is thought to fall short of Liverpool’s valuation for the former Porto player. Furthermore, it is said that both the player and the club have a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ allowing him to depart if an offer of £69.1 million is received.
Nevertheless, with the transfer window remaining open until early September, there is still an opportunity for interested parties to negotiate a deal with Liverpool for Diaz, who netted 13 goals and provided five assists in the Premier League during the last season.
Consequently, focus shifts to potential candidates who could realistically replace Diaz at Anfield. Liverpool was strongly linked with a transfer for Anthony Gordon last summer.
The England international, who transferred from rivals Everton to Newcastle in 2023, played a crucial role in helping the Magpies achieve domestic success and qualify for the Champions League last season. Gordon has attracted interest at Anfield, and it is easy to understand why.
