Xavi Simons has indicated the possibility of a summer transfer away from RB Leipzig, following interest from top Premier League clubs.
Having joined Leipzig permanently in January after an 18-month loan from Paris Saint-Germain, Simons is reportedly available for transfer this summer, with several elite teams keen on acquiring the 21-year-old.
Manchester United was the first club linked to him, but it has since emerged that long-time admirers such as Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool are also interested in securing Simons’ services, with a potential transfer fee estimated around £60 million.
When asked about his future in an interview with Sky Sports Germany, Simons acknowledged that he has communicated his aspirations to Leipzig but refrained from providing specific details.
“I am still a young player with many dreams, and the club is aware of that,” he stated.
“However, my primary focus at the moment is to perform well in the upcoming matches.”
He added, “After the international fixtures, we will sit down and discuss what the future holds.
“Simons has garnered international attention since his time at the Barcelona youth academy.
Chelsea made an unsuccessful attempt to sign him when he was just 12 years old, and by the age of 14, he had amassed an impressive 1 million followers on Instagram.
He transferred to Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer in 2019 without having played a senior match for Barcelona, later moving to PSV Eindhoven for free three years later, which included a favorable buy-back option for the French club.
His impressive record of 22 goals and 11 assists in 48 matches in the Netherlands demonstrated his ability to make an impact in senior football, a sentiment that has only strengthened following his successful stint with Leipzig.
