Aspas, often considered the greatest player in Celta Vigo’s history, has received an exciting promise from club president Marian Mourino: a statue of him will be erected outside the stadium.
A product of Celta Vigo’s youth academy, Aspas made his first team debut in 2008 and, after five successful years, made a move to Liverpool. Unfortunately, his time at Anfield didn’t go as planned.
Following a brief loan spell at Sevilla, he found his way back to Celta in 2015.
Since then, he has achieved an impressive milestone, amassing over 500 appearances for the club across both spells, while also scoring more than 200 goals.
