Liverpool is said to have entered the competition to acquire a former target of Manchester United, who is available at an unexpectedly low price.
Just days after celebrating their 20th league title with a Premier League trophy parade, Liverpool announced their first transfer of what is anticipated to be a hectic summer, as Dutch right-back Jeremie Frimpong has joined the team.
