
Liverpool manager Arne Slot has shared his thoughts on the difficulties of being away from his family during his inaugural year at Anfield.
Slot’s spouse Mirjam and their children, Joep and Isa, have stayed in the Netherlands to ensure that the children’s education remains uninterrupted, while he resides alone in Liverpool.

“Anyone who is married and enjoys a good marriage, which I believe I do, would prefer to spend more time with their children and spouse.
“Despite the physical distance, Slot’s family has been supportive, attending games and celebrating significant events, including the Premier League title victory against Tottenham.
The heightened attention resulting from Slot’s achievements has also affected his family life.
“My wife finds that scrutiny to be the most difficult aspect of our lives,” he remarked.
“She experienced this at Feyenoord, but it has intensified since our move to Liverpool.
She feels as though she is being observed or judged.
“Mirjam has even altered her habits, choosing take-out meals over dining together, as a result of feeling under the spotlight.
In spite of these challenges, Slot’s daughter Isa is set to join him in Manchester for three months to improve her English skills.
Slot has expressed his deep appreciation for his family’s support, recognizing the sacrifices they have made for his professional journey.
“I have publicly acknowledged the significant role that Mirjam’s steadfast support and sacrifices have played in my success in England,” he stated.
