Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong’s Liverpool Shirt Numbers ‘Leaked’

Liverpool has had a successful summer, bringing in talents such as Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz to an already impressive Premier League-winning team – and their supporters suspect that the kit numbers of these two new stars have been revealed.

Arne Slot, who succeeded the highly regarded Jurgen Klopp, became the fifth manager in Premier League history to secure the title in his first season. However, the Dutchman, together with Sporting Director Richard Hughes, was eager to enhance their squad.

The Reds have endured a spending spree this summer – most notably, their club-record coup of Wirtz, who has continued to impress in his first few displays as a Liverpool player. And the German’s shirt number, alongside his teammate Frimpong’s, have now been leaked.

With each signing throughout the summer, fans are filled with excitement regarding a) how the players will perform when the domestic season resumes and b) what shirt numbers they will wear, prompting them to rush to the nearest store to purchase their club’s latest jersey.

Currently, the supporters of Anfield believe they have insight into the shirt numbers that both Wirtz, 22, and Frimpong, 24, will be sporting from the upcoming season onward. The Premier League website, which lists every shirt number for all 20 teams in the English top division, has leaked this information.

Wirtz, who hails from Pulheim and is widely considered one of the finest number 10s in global football, is set to wear the No.27 shirt, as per the official Premier League website.

This number has previously been worn by Darwin Nunez and Divock Origi for Liverpool, but it is currently unassigned. According to Transfermarkt, only seven players have donned the No.27 for the Merseysiders. It was the first number he adopted upon joining Bayer Leverkusen’s senior team, before he later took over the No.10 shirt, which now belongs to Alexis Mac Allister.

Ben Jacobs from GIVEMESPORT had earlier reported that after Frimpong completed his medical with Liverpool, he would be wearing the No.30 shirt – and the latest update from the Premier League’s website has confirmed this information.

Frimpong, who was born and raised in Amsterdam, also transferred from Bayer Leverkusen this summer – and he is anticipated to serve as a backup for Mohamed Salah on the right wing, while also being a viable option at right-back, particularly following Trent Alexander-Arnold’s exit.

He made the No.30 shirt his own during his time with Scottish Premiership club Celtic – and this trend continued when he moved to the German side in January 2021. He will be the first player in a decade to wear the No.30 for the reigning Premier League champions.
