A second Real Madrid player has left the club after their defeat by Paris Saint Germain in the FIFA Club World Cup.
On Wednesday evening, La Liga giants Madrid and Champions League winners PSG faced off at the MetLife Stadium with a place in the final of the newly revamped Club World Cup at stake.
Although many people expected a close encounter, it was anything but that.
PSG were a class above as a brace from Fabian Ruiz and goals by Ousmane Dembele and Goncalo Ramos sealed a 4-0 victory.
In addition to Modric, Spaniard Lucas Vazquez has also left Los Blancos. Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano wrote on social media: “Lucas Vázquez leaves Real Madrid and he’s set for next move as free agent. Legend of the club.
“Since returning to Madrid in 2015, Vazquez went on to make a total of 402 appearances across all competitions, scoring 38 goals in the process.
The full-back lifted four La Liga titles and five Champions Leagues among other trophies.
