Liverpool Star Reportedly Eager to Depart Following Interest from European Giants

Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson is reportedly interested in making a move away from Anfield this summer, particularly after Atlético Madrid has reached out to him.

Since joining from Hull City in 2017, Robertson has been a key player for Liverpool, but his future now seems uncertain with the arrival of new manager Arne Slot, who is eager to bring in another left-back.

The club has been linked with Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez, and Robertson has addressed these speculations multiple times, affirming that he still possesses the ability to compete at the highest level.

With a transfer for Kerkez estimated to be nearing £45 million ($61.1 million), it looks like Robertson could be on the verge of losing his place in the starting eleven.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Atlético Madrid is keen to capitalize on this potential shift.

Robertson has emerged as Atlético’s primary target for the left-back position, surpassing AC Milan’s Theo Hernández, and preliminary discussions regarding a potential summer transfer have already begun. The Scotland international appears eager to make the switch. However, a transfer is not a certainty.

As the 31-year-old approaches the final year of his contract this summer, Liverpool must weigh the financial benefits of a potential sale against the repercussions of his exit.

The Reds are not likely to settle for a low fee, even if it leads to Robertson leaving without a transfer fee.

In the meantime, another left-back, Kostas Tsimikas, is anticipated to be impacted by Kerkez’s approaching transfer to Anfield.

The Greek player, whose contract extends until 2027, has attracted interest from various clubs throughout the Premier League and across Europe.
