Manchester City have reached an agreement to employ former Liverpool assistant manager Pepijn Lijnders, according to reports.
Lijnders left the Reds last summer alongside long-serving manager Jürgen Klopp, having dedicated nine-and-a-half years to the Liverpool coaching staff over two separate periods.
He initially served as an academy coach before becoming Klopp’s assistant in 2015.
The duo separated in January 2018 but reunited that summer for an additional six seasons, after which Lijnders decided to pursue first-team management once more.
He was appointed as the manager of Red Bull Salzburg last summer but was dismissed after just 28 matches.
Currently, several sources, including The Times, have indicated that Lijnders is set to return to a backroom position after agreeing to join Guardiola, who was a fierce competitor of Klopp during his tenure at Anfield.
