Luis Diaz has announced his intention to begin discussions with Liverpool regarding a contract extension, dispelling rumors of a possible summer departure.
The Colombian international is experiencing the most successful season of his Liverpool tenure, achieving double-digit goals in the Premier League for the first time since his transfer from Porto in early 2022.

“Yes, I am happy,” Diaz stated in an interview with Telemundo Deportes this week.
“From the moment I arrived, I have always felt content, at ease, and have enjoyed playing for this remarkable team.
We will discuss the renewal; for me, I would be willing to stay for as long as necessary, though it also depends on the club.
These matters are resolved separately. I remain calm, happy, and enjoying the Premier League.
” The 28-year-old forward is under contract until 2027. Liverpool has already navigated the challenges of uncertain futures for key players.
After extensive speculation, the club successfully secured agreements with Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah, although they have had to let go of Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is heading to Real Madrid, much to the disappointment of Liverpool supporters.
Slot’s team may face similar contract issues with three players next season, as centre-back Ibrahima Konate, backup goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, and veteran defender Andy Robertson all have contracts set to expire in 2026.
