Jurgen Klopp received a guard of honour at Anfield following his final match as Liverpool’s manager.
One player from Liverpool was observed not applauding as the German coach passed through the guard of honour.
This same player also appeared disinterested during Klopp’s address to the team in the dressing room. Observant Liverpool supporters noted that Darwin Nunez was the sole player who did not applaud Klopp during the guard of honour at Anfield.
The esteemed German manager bid farewell to the Reds after a 2-0 victory against Wolves on the concluding day of the 2023-24 Premier League season.
It was a poignant day on Merseyside as Liverpool said goodbye to their most successful manager of the past three decades.
Klopp is the only individual to have led the English giants to the Premier League title since the league’s establishment in 1992, although Arne Slot is now set to secure Liverpool’s record-equalling 20th league title in the near future.
Additionally, Klopp guided the Merseyside club to a sixth European Cup, solidifying his legacy as one of the club’s all-time greatest managers.
Some of the most calm and collected players in the squad were reduced to tears, including captain Virgil van Dijk, who was visibly emotional as he embraced his boss for a final time on the pitch.
Trent Alexander-Arnold was also seen trying to fight back tears as the Liverpool players joined the supporters in a final rendition of ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ of the season.
However, it didn’t appear to be such a big occasion for every player.

Footage emerged from Klopp’s ceremony on the Anfield pitch which showed every single member of the Liverpool playing staff clapping for their departing boss, apart from Nunez. This caused a stir online as it came across as a lack of respect for one of the best Premier League managers of all time. View the video below:
