According to Fabrizio Romano, Trent Alexander-Arnold is still anticipated to finalize a transfer to Real Madrid from Liverpool this summer, despite recent rumors.
The Reds’ defender has been projected to join the Bernabeu upon the expiration of his contract at the season’s end. However, his decisive goal against Leicester last weekend led to considerable excitement, prompting some to speculate that he might reconsider his decision.
Nevertheless, while the Anfield club has successfully persuaded Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk to extend their contracts for an additional two years, the likelihood of Alexander-Arnold doing the same now appears quite low.
Alexander-Arnold Set to Join Real MadridDeal in final stages

trent alexander-arnold-1While speaking on his Here We Go podcast, Romano shared the latest news on the future of the 26-year-old and admitted that the expectation of all parties is still that he will be heading to Spain next season.
“The deal for Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid is at the final stages.
Just waiting for the formal steps, just waiting to sign all the contracts, just waiting to complete all the documents. And so that’s the direction of the story.
“Real Madrid, at the moment, no changes in the conversation in the situation with Liverpool.
“Then we will follow the story till the end, till he signs the contract, and so we wait for the formal steps.
But it’s important to remind once again, that Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to join Real Madrid, despite the social media stuff, the celebrations and all the rest, that’s the feeling.”
Then if something changes, I will come here and tell you, but that’s not the case as of today, from what I’m hearing.
“Liverpool are on the brink of sealing their second Premier League title and 20th English top-flight crown, with just one point needed from their final five fixtures.
Alexander-Arnold has just returned from a six-week absence following an ankle injury, and scored the winning goal last weekend to help edge towards a second title of his career.
He may not be fully fit enough to feature against Tottenham in the game that could clinch the title, but it certainly seems that the England international is in the final few games of his Liverpool career.
