Fabrizio Romano Shares Update on if Alexander-Arnold Could Stay at Liverpool

Real Madrid continues to anticipate the acquisition of Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold this summer, despite his fervent celebration following his goal on Sunday, as reported by Fabrizio Romano on GIVEMESPORT’s recent Market Madness podcast.

The England international scored the crucial goal in the 1-0 victory over Leicester City, bringing the Reds closer to securing the Premier League title, and celebrated exuberantly by removing his shirt after the ball found the net.

ALEXANDER-ARNOLD TO REAL MADRID ‘SUPER-ADVANCED

While Liverpool have recently secured the futures of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk – two of their three superstars whose contracts were expiring – there have been no positive developments with Alexander-Arnold.

Reports in recent months have suggested that the 26-year-old is set to join Real Madrid this summer, but some Reds supporters may have felt that his celebration at the King Power Stadium this weekend was telling and that he may not have made up his mind completely yet. However, asked if there was any chance that Alexander-Arnold could change his mind about leaving Liverpool, Romano told the Market Madness podcast:

“Look, that’s a question for Trent, not for me, because I can’t sign contracts, unfortunately.

But to be honest, I think they are at a super-advanced stage.”

As you mentioned verbally, the deal is almost agreed.

So it was just about sending all the contracts, checking all the documents, having the final signatures, but it’s just about the formal part.

“Then in football, anything can happen. But I think in this case, Real Madrid have no doubts.

If you speak with people at Real Madrid, they already consider Trent as one of the players at their club for next season, and I don’t think this is going to change.

“I think Trent, with that celebration and in general, is always showing his commitment to Liverpool and how important it is for him to win the title to show his love for Liverpool until the very end.

“Then there is Real Madrid waiting for him. If he changes his mind, we should ask him. But at the moment, again, Real Madrid are convinced that this is not going to happen.”
